Your puzzle, your little corner.
NookGrid works without a player account. These notes explain what stays on your device and what may reach us.

Saved on your device
Your board, move and hint counts, completion state, last play date and preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. This lets you leave and return to the same puzzle. We do not upload your saved board. Clearing this site’s browser data removes saved progress. If storage is unavailable, you can still play in the open tab.
Optional play analytics
We ask your permission before loading PostHog, our analytics provider. You can keep playing without allowing analytics.
If you allow it, PostHog saves a random identifier in this browser so we can measure return visits. Events include pages visited, fixed button and control names, puzzle dates and outcomes, hints, sharing outcomes, and time when the page is visible and recently used. Approved campaign labels and a referring site's hostname help us understand where visits came from. We do not send your saved board, feedback text, names, emails, or other form contents to analytics. A browser identifier represents a browser, not necessarily one person.
We do not record video-like session replays, keystrokes, or the contents of your screen. Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control, and our test mode turn analytics off. Browser blockers and unavailable storage may also prevent measurement. We do not use fingerprinting or advertising scripts.
You can change your choice under Preferences on the puzzle page, or . Turning it off stops collection in the current tab and clears the analytics identifier when browser storage permits. If your browser cannot save your choice, we show a warning. It does not erase previously received events. Clearing browser data can make a future opted-in visit appear to be a new browser.
PostHog's free plan provides a one-year analytics window. Its retention and deletion policy applies; this is not a guarantee that every record is erased exactly one year after collection. PostHog is configured to discard IP addresses from play events and skip location enrichment. It also receives ordinary connection information when analytics is allowed; see PostHog's privacy policy. We do not sell play data.
Feedback you choose to send
If you choose to send feedback, the form sends your enjoyment and difficulty choices, an optional note, and the puzzle date to NookGrid’s hosting provider, here.now. Feedback records are readable by the site owner, not by other visitors. Please do not include names, email addresses or other personal or sensitive information in your note. There is no public comment feed.
The form may show that feedback collection is temporarily unavailable. In that case, no feedback is being sent. If sending fails, your form text stays on screen so you can try again. It is not saved to local storage.
Hosting and retention
Our host receives ordinary web request information, which can include your IP address and browser information. The host also applies limits to repeated submissions. See here.now’s privacy policy for its handling of that information.
Our operating policy is to delete raw feedback and any legacy play-count records within 30 days after receipt, retaining only summarized findings and counts. We do not sell feedback or play data. If you inadvertently sent personal information, use the feedback form to request removal and describe the note and approximate time without adding more sensitive details.
If advertising is added
We will update these notes and put any required choices in place before adding advertising. NookGrid currently contains no ads.
